Hot rodders in the 50′s would run the same car one weekend at the drags, the next at the Lakes, and then compete in a road race. Tucson’s Frank Townsend, an Arizona Drag Racing Hall of Fame member, was no different. Frank built and raced this beautiful sports car in the 50′s, then lost track of it in the years that followed. Owen Gibson found the car in a field and completely restored it, finishing the project in 2006. The car has competed in the Monterey Historic races at Laguna Seca and will be at the Reunion.
